| PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE |
| |
| This quarter, the Thread Group has been focused on releasing the incredibly valuable 1.1 test harness and test lab with three complete and spec conformant reference Thread stacks. This milestone will generate a new wave of momentum for Thread, as we expect to close 2016 with our certification program finalized and anticipate certified products in the market as early as CES 2017-great news for the Thread Group and the entire industry. |

Maintaining and building upon this momentum, key application layer liaisons with organizations such as EEBus and the Open Connectivity Foundation (OCF) have strengthened our position and commitment to providing Thread-based connectivity solutions worldwide. Application layers will also be a key highlight of our November All Members Meeting, featuring, in some cases first-time or exclusive, technical presentations and demos with Alphabet / Google / Nest Weave, EEBus SPINE, IEC 61850, OCF IoTivity, Open Mobile Alliance Lightweight M2M, and ZigBee Alliance Cluster Library over IP.
Finally, as a testament to the strength of Thread and a natural step and evolution, we also announced our intent to expand Thread beyond the connected home into the commercial building and professional sectors. Development and communications about this new initiative for Thread will continue to unfold throughout the remainder of this year and into 2017.

- Thread Group hosted a successful All Member Meeting in July in Chicago, IL.
- Thread Group's last All Member Meeting for 2016 will be held in Lisbon Portugal on November 15th-17th
- NEW Application Layer Session on Tuesday, November 15th followed by multi-vendor demos. These presentations and demonstrations will include Nest Weave, ZigBee Clusters, NXP LightweightM2M, OCF, Silicon Labs, Samsung, Rigado, ElectroTest (IEC61850), Kirale Technologies, Resolution Products and Perytons. This exclusive Application Layer sessions will be open to all Thread members and will cover technical architecture, challenges addressed, and the process used to port various application layers running on Thread.
- In addition, breakout sessions (open to Sponsors and Contributors) will spend time on Thread 1.1 specification and certification as well as on technical and marketing working sessions for Thread "Beyond the Home".
